This
was originally a 'flat tank' event the first day and open to classic
bikes the second day. However in our attempt to broaden appeal the event
has become more open in recent years and has proven to be a popular
weekend based in Keswick in the heart of the Lake District. The event
starts with people gathering on the Friday afternoon at the town's Rugby
Club which is located very handily close to the town centre and with
the town camp / caravan site next door. There are runs on the Saturday
and Sunday, which are primarily social runs attracting riders from all
part of the U.K.
Although a VMCC event, all VCR members are welcome. Although subject to VMCC regulations, we can share the facilities over the weekend and mix with like
minded people whilst enjoying a great selection of interesting roads.

You will see from the map
that they often use back roads that are free from tourists; there is a
vast amount of choice of course, not forgetting some spectacular and
scenic passes.
	Should
anyone wish to join in the official runs, day membership of the
V.M.C.C. is available for anyone with a motorcycle over 25 years old.
This is by no means a condition of attendance and VCR member Malcolm Miller would be more than
glad to offer advice on suitable routes in the area for those who wish
to do their own thing.
 As
well as the camping / caravan site right next to the venue, there is a
wide choice of accommodation in the town and its surroundings. It does
get busy in July however, so if it is likely that your members would be
paying a visit and would be looking for a roof over their heads, early
booking is highly advised!
